1. The Why Behind Convention Settings

  • Align your team around “how we use Asana here.”
  • Get on the same page early by discussing and documenting how you will approach the creation and the buildout of your Asana instance.
  • Creating, Assigning, and Completing tasks: Dos and Don’ts.

2. Setting Up Your Asana Instance for Success

  • Communication best practices: Streamline communication across your different tools
  • Configuring your Asana instance:
    • Setting up your profile and notifications
    • Establishing your hierarchy: Teams, Projects, & custom field governance.
    • Portfolio management
  • Project and task naming conventions.

3. Data & Privacy

  • Understanding access and privacy settings
    • Project visibility, user access
    • Guests vs members
    • Data sharing and customer information
  • Form and project view link sharing
  • Adding new members to Asana and sharing project information.
